With over 30 years of experience as a DJ, my journey began at the age of 15 as a roadie, hauling crates of 45 records, speakers, powered mixers, and record players. In Hibbing, Minnesota, one of the DJs in the company that I worked for took me under his wing as his personal roadie and eventual sidekick. It wasn’t long before I was helping craft setlists, spinning records and CDs, and even stepping up to share MC duties in front of the crowd.
Though college took me away to the Metro area for full-time studies and work, the passion for DJing never left. After graduation, I answered a call in the River Falls area and dove back into DJing. A few years later, while performing at a wedding in Western Wisconsin, a client suggested I start my own company—and I did.
Running my own business has been incredibly rewarding. One of the things I love most is meeting with clients personally before their event. I take pride in ensuring that every detail is aligned with their vision. Unlike some others, I don’t overbook, and I never subcontract my events to other companies—when you hire me, you get me.
I also have a bit of a passion for “toys”—particularly lighting. If you’re into lighting effects, I’ve got some of the best in the business. In fact, I’ve been told more than a few times that I was booked based on my lighting setups alone, not to mention the other things I bring to the table.
What truly sets my approach apart is that I tailor every event to the client’s unique style and preferences, ensuring it’s a one-of-a-kind experience. I’m skilled at seamlessly mixing playlists and transitioning songs, all while reading the crowd to keep everyone engaged and having a great time. I know when to lead the party and when to step back to let it take on a life of its own, ensuring that the celebration is always centered around you and your guests.
